Trail “Hapotami” in Mandria

Starting point: Mandria-Kato Platres Road – We started the trail from here which I believe is the starting point


“Hapotami” nature trail is found in the charming village of Mandria. The “Hapotami” river starts from Platres and ends at the sea somewhere between Kouklia and Petra tou Romiou, dividing the village into Mandria and Mandria of Mylavri.

This circular trail was created to give its visitors the opportunity to admire the magnificent nature the village possess. The most beautiful part of trail takes you alongside the “Hapotami” riverbanks, crossing seven bridges along the route. Also, benches are located in several parts of the trail giving its visitors the opportunity to rest and admire the surroundings. Some of the vegetation visitors will encounter along the trail are Calabrian pines, Golden oaks, plane trees, apple trees, vines and wildflowers.

The route also passes through many other points of interest, such as the stone bridge of Frangos which in the past served those passing through the village, old fountains, the old school, the residential area of the village, a local winery, vineyards and the church of Agios Georgios.
