Khor Virap Monastery in Armenia
The monastery is close to the border between Armenia and Turkey, on a hill near the village of Pokr Vedi. In ancient times, it was the site of the Armenian capital, Artashat. Today, Khor Virap Monastery is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Armenia, renowned for its stunning views of Mount Ararat, which is considered a sacred mountain by Armenians. According to legend, Gregory the Illuminator played a pivotal role in the conversion of Armenians to Christianity in 301 CE. As a result, King Tiridates III imprisoned him due to his Christian faith, but when he was eventually released and Armenians adopted Christianity, the site of Khor Virap gained significant religious importance. The dungeon where Gregory was held captive for 13 years is still visible today and can be reached using a narrow ladder. Khor Virap Monastery is considered a gem of Armenia and should definitely be added to your itinerary.

Phewa lake
Arriving in Pokhara, a lovely, lakeside city, you realize that it's just as touristic as Kathmandu but cleaner, with less pollution and quieter. The city is filled with many restaurants, coffee shops, bars and souvenir and clothing shops, but I think what makes it special is Phewa lake, the heart of Pokhara. I highly recommended to walk or cycle around the lake, go on a boat trip and enjoy the beautiful sunset.
The Annapurna Base Camp trek
From Deurali the route to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) is like entering a different world. Being surrounded by waterfalls and massif mountains, the Annapurna South and the magnificent Fishtail, makes you realize the beauty to be seen in this world and how small we actually are! The Machhapuchhre Base Camp is of course the base camp of the Machhapuchhre mountain, also known as Fishtail (6993m). The Fishtail was declared sacred and off limits for climbers, since it has never been climbed to its summit.
Apsiou village - Cyprus
Apsiou carries a great history, and it is full of things to see and do. A great destination to relax, explore the surroundings, enjoy some sightseeing and so much more.
The Annapurna Base Camp trek
The trek into the Annapurna Base Camp is stunning, the views breath-taking, surrounded by massive mountains. Eventually, it was all worth it. Standing proudly at the lodge of the Annapurna Base Camp enjoying the sunrise and the panoramic views of some of the greatest peaks in the world, gave me the feeling of accomplishment that I actually made it! This was the biggest reward! All the exhaustion, cold, lack of breath, aches all over my body were magically gone (or at least forgotten for a while).
Trail Aidonia in Kampi tou Farmaka
The highlight of this trail is a treehouse found just after 10 minutes from the beginning of the trail. The story behind this wooden tree house is that it was built years ago by a few young residents of the area and was destroyed over the years. With the help of some funding, the support of the Youth Center of the village and the Association of Expatriates, the treehouse was fully restored when the trail was created. Noteworthy, is that the area around the treehouse is equipped with benches and kiosks making it a perfect location to enjoy a relaxing picnic.

Trail Six Springs (6 Vryses) in Arsos
The “Six Springs” is a short, easy, idyllic trail connecting 6 medieval fountains, suitable for everyone. The water flows all year around maintaining the surrounding flora and fauna. During the medieval period these fountains played an important role for the residents of the village by supplying themselves with the necessary water for their households and their animals. Even during drought periods, there was always water running from the fountains.

Nepal - The Annapurna Base Camp trek
My first encounter during our first trekking day were two beautiful children walking down the hill with the older sister carrying a basket on her head. A very common thing with the children you meet during this trek, is them asking trekkers for chocolate or to take a picture with you. People in Nepal are really friendly, always greeting you with a smile and "Namaste", a warm and inviting hospitality found everywhere!
Valley of Platy
Located between the villages Mylikouri, Kaminaria, Agios Nikolaos and 15km from Platres, there’s a small piece of paradise, the Valley of Platy. This is probably my favourite location in Cyprus and if you haven’t seen it yet, it is definitely worth it. Feels like entering an enchanted forest! Walk through this stunning natural landscape and immerse yourself in nature. Even though there isn’t an actual trail there, but a dirt road alongside Platy river, you can easily hike it as it is relatively easy.

Telendos sunset
Located just 700 meters from Myrties port, jump on a boat and visit Telendos and enjoy the tranquillity and relaxation this tiny island has to offer! Telendos was part of Kalymnos, until an earthquake in 535 A.D. separated it from the rest of the island. Telendos has a tiny port, a few taverns, a few shops and a few rooms available to let. On this picturesque island live around 60 inhabitants.
